CheckYourSpend is a free, open-source Google Sheets budgeting tool for South Africans, maintained by Leo.

What this add-on does

It lets you import bank statement CSV files directly into your own Google Sheet. All processing happens inside your spreadsheet — nothing is sent to any external server.

Permissions we request

spreadsheets.currentonly — reads your bank mapping config and writes imported transactions to your DataStore sheet.
script.container.ui — shows the import dialog inside Google Sheets.

No other Google services (Drive, Gmail, Calendar, etc.) are accessed.

Data we collect

None. Your bank statement data never leaves your Google Sheet. There is no analytics, tracking, telemetry, or data sent to Leo or any third party.

Third-party services

None. The add-on runs entirely as a Google Apps Script bound to your spreadsheet.

Children's privacy

This tool is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

Updates will be posted at checkyourspend.com/privacy/sheet with a new "Last updated" date.
